About

The U16 and U18 athletes race throughout New York state and the Northeast in the NYSSRA Sports Page Series. Races are weekend events. Coaches with USSA certification and extensive coaching and racing experience lead this group. Training is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and any non-race weekends. Evening training runs from 6:00 PM to 8 PM. Weekend training begins at 9:00-2:30 with a lunch break included. In addition to these practice opportunities the U16 & U 18's have the option to join the afternoon program. Please navigate to the afternoon program webpage for more information about this specialized program.   In addition to evening and weekend training, the U16/U18 program includes holiday camp training opportunities between Christmas and New Years as well as over February break. Competition Races are held across NY state and the greater Northeast region from December to early April. Athletes are referred to the NYSSRA and USSA websites for more information on race schedules and qualifications.

Costs

The cost per athlete is a $ 850 fee for the evening program and this includes coaching, insurance and the previous family membership fee.  Payments received after December 1, 2023 will be charged a $25 late fee. These athletes can purchase a season pass for Labrador Mountain through the hill directly but this is NOT included in the Club's fees. Athletes at this level are required to be members of both USSA and NYSSRA in order to be eligible to participate in the races throughout the season. Athletes should speak with their Head Coach about the possibility of registering with FIS in order to be eligible to qualify for end of the season races. All athletes will need to download and fill out the Club's Medical and Liability Release Form that can be found on Labrador Mountain Ski Club's home page. They should return this to their Head Coach or Program Director prior to the start of the season.
