This program focuses on 11 and 12 year-old skiers and on developing skiing skills while
working on racing techniques. Training is available on week-ends and two weekday nights.
Training: Saturday and Sunday
beginning on December 8 through March 9.
Training past that date is also available for racers qualifying for end-of-season
championship events. Night training is two nights per week - Tuesday and Thursday.
Training Times:
- Tuesday & Thursday nights from 5:30-8:30PM
- Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM-2:30 PM.
Family Membership Dues: Membership dues, which cover administrative and equipment costs
related to the race program, are $150 per family.
Coaching Fees: Fees for the 2007-2008 season are $440 per racer. This includes a $6 NASTAR
fee. The coaching fee does not include the Labrador Mountain Ski Pass.
Insurance Charge: There is an
additional $50 charge per racer for the Club's
liability insurance.
Health Information Form: All racers must
have this form on file prior to the beginning of the
season. Download the
Medical Information & Release Form and submit it with your
payment.
Additional Required Memberships: J4
racers must join the United States Ski and Snowboard
Association (USSA) Youth Ski League and the New York
State Ski Racing Association (NYSSRA) if they wish
to compete. Renewal applications are sent by
USSA. Applications for new racers can be obtained
by clicking on the following

J4 Racing: Junior 4's race within the Central New York Ski Council (CNYSC). A CNYSC Team
is selected to represent the Council at the J4 State Championships.
The selection process
is outlined in the Central Council Directory, which is published and distributed to Club members
in December.
Racing
Schedule:
J4 racers should refer to the
2008 J4-5 Council Race Information
and
2008 J3-4 State Schedule
pages of the NYSSRA Web site
or the Central Council Directory for race schedules. They should then confer with their
coaches to choose competitions that best meet their needs and requirements.
The NYSSRA pages should be checked
periodically for changes about J4 events.
Super Giant Slalom (SG) Camp: All J4s will be invited to participate in a
SG camp - time and place to be determined.
Athletes competing in the J4 State Championships
must have participated fully in this camp. During the camp, racers will learn basic speed techniques. There will be
video analysis and clean runs will be conducted.
